1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of Your Safe Neighbourhood, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use our services.

2. User Accounts and Eligibility

To use certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• Maintain the security of your account credentials.
• Promptly update any information to keep it accurate.
• Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use the platform.

3. Community Guidelines & Conduct

Your Safe Neighbourhood is built on trust and community safety. You agree NOT to:

• Post false or misleading reports of local issues.
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other residents or group members.
• Use the platform for any illegal activities or to promote illegal acts.
• Post content that is defamatory, obscene, or violates the rights of others.
• Impersonate any person or entity, including platform administrators.
• Spam or use the platform for unauthorised commercial purposes.

4. Group Registration & Verification

Creating or leading a Neighbourhood Watch or similar community group requires verification. We reserve the right to approve or deny group requests based on our internal safety protocols. Providing false identification during the verification process will result in an immediate and permanent ban.

5. Not an Emergency Service

Your Safe Neighbourhood is NOT an emergency service. The platform is designed for community awareness and information sharing. In the event of an emergency, a crime in progress, or immediate danger, you must always call 999 or your local emergency number directly. We are not responsible for any delays in reporting emergencies to official authorities.

6. Intellectual Property

The platform, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Your Safe Neighbourhood and is protected by UK and international copyright laws.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Your Safe Neighbourhood shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the platform or the conduct of other users.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the platform.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
